Outside Flooring Sales Representative
Job Description: 

Summary Sells products for manufacturer or distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Sell/ Market flooring products in assigned area.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Tracks stock levels.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Attends trade shows.

Qualifications: 

We prefer a minimum of 5 years related building material sales experience, with current customer relationships in the Shreveport market. Candidate must have prior outside sales experience.

  • Four year degree preferred, will consider less with experience
  • Building material sales experience with successful sales history
  • Architectural and Builder relationships
  • Live in the Shreveport Metropolitan Area
  • Prior Outside Sales Experience Strong construction background
  • Good selling and communication skills
  • Experience selling construction building products
  • History of meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly budgets and goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Computer skills as well as the ability to do construction take offs and estimates.
  • Prior experience dealing with Architects, Builders, Commercial Contractors and Designers is a plus
