Fort Worth, Texas (February 4, 2016) – Acme Brick Company announced that the company’s expanding line of brick and other construction related products will be promoted directly to architects and sold directly to masonry contractors in the Houston market. “Our ever growing list of diverse products has prompted us to make this change from our former arrangement,” said Rusty Haile, Acme’s South Texas Regional Sales Manager. “We have always called directly on architects in all our other markets and Houston is now consistent with the rest of our company.”
In recent years Acme has added Yankee Hill, Pacific Clay and Pine Hall brick to their own brick products, a variety of natural stone selections, RockCast Architectural Stone Products, Texas Quarries limestone and a variety of brick paver products. Most recently Acme expanded its relationship with Bautex Systems’ insulated concrete block to include the Houston market. Acme is also now the exclusive distributor of Elgin-Butler Glazed Brick & Tile in Houston.
Architects in Houston can draw from the resources of five of Acme’s largest commercial brick plants located in Perla, Arkansas, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Denver, Colorado and Acme’s Elgin and Denton. “These five plants give architects a tremendous range of colors, textures and sizes to draw from along with the ability to mingle blends and to request special blends”, said Haile. “We have a local yard to inventory our commercial products which will support scheduling.”
Responding to the news of Acme’s direct sales approach in Houston, AIA Executive Director, Rusty Bienvenue said, “I’m pleased to hear that you are increasing your presence in the Houston area. I’ve long been envious of your direct involvement with other chapters in Texas.”
To support this new system, Acme has added four highly experienced architectural representatives, all of whom are well known inside the Houston community.
- Steve Christianson has been an 11- year sales leader for Acme and has been the point man with its former distributor.
- Steve Cox is an 8-year Acme veteran and award winning salesman with heavy multi-family experience.
- David Sterne is a seasoned Acme veteran who has delivered AIA accredited LEED training to over 1,000 Texas architects since 2008. He is widely acknowledged as a valuable resource for architects and builders working on commercial and institutional projects. David hold a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and a Professional Engineer Certification with Structural Specialization from the State of Texas.
- Newly hired to the Acme Brick commercial team is Chris Pelton. Chris is an experienced architectural sales representative. He has also earned his LEED AP BD+C accreditations which is rare outside of the field of architecture. His passion for the business is well known in the Houston architectural community.
Haile added that, “Acme’s new sales model is an exciting opportunity to bring all our many products to the Houston architectural community including: Cordillera Stone and Caprock Stone from Featherlite, the IBP Fast Track Stone™ installation system, Acme thinBRIK…the list goes on and continues to grow. I know Houston’s architects will be delighted at the many new, innovative products that Acme will bring to their projects.”
