Demystifying Steel Siding

Developed by MAC Metal Architectural—a leader in the design and prefabrication of premium pre-painted steel siding and roofing—in collaboration with Acme, this course explores the specifics of various metallic claddings in their most common applications, with a particular emphasis on the advantages steel offers over other cladding materials and how different paint systems compare to one another.  

An increasingly popular choice for both residential and commercial construction, steel siding is an extremely durable, low-maintenance cladding solution made incredibly versatile thanks to a wide range of paint, finish, and texture options that allow it to mimic the appearance of almost any material.

This course may be presented by a MAC Metal Architectural representative or Acme representative.

• Characteristics of the most common types of metal coatings used in the AEC industry
• Technical specs of pre-painted steel coatings (e.g. types of testing undergone, susceptibility to oil canning and how to minimize it, noncombustibility, et cetera)
• The sustainability of steel compared to other siding materials
• Installation basics to help participants learn to recognize and differentiate the various types of siding profiles and applications
