Sail and Surf at Victory Village are two residence halls for Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) upperclassmen. Together they house up to 650 students and occupy two blocks in Savannah’s historic Streetcar District. The buildings include a 260 stall parking deck, a mix of 4-bed and 2-bed suites with kitchenettes along with studio spaces totaling approximately 250,000 square feet of living space. The exterior composition of both buildings takes into account the context of this historic district. The façade was designed to exceed the certificate of appropriateness within Savannah by focusing on scale and façade detailing. Breaking down the mass of these 4 and 5 story buildings complemented the surrounding residential houses while fitting into the neighborhood with grace.
