On March 20, Dennis Knautz, former President and CEO of Acme Brick Company, was inducted into the prestigious Texas Masonry Hall of Fame. The ceremony, held at the iconic Alamo in San Antonio, honored Knautz alongside three other industry leaders for their significant contributions to the field.
The Texas Masonry Hall of Fame celebrates the visionaries who have shaped and elevated the masonry construction industry in the Lone Star State. This recognition not only celebrates the expertise, innovation, and leadership of its inductees but also serves to inspire future generations to uphold the highest standards in the field.
Dennis retired as Acme’s President and CEO on April 1, 2023, after more than 40 years of service to the company. During his tenure, Acme Brick Company consistently led the nation in brick shipments, delivering 32 billion brick to residential and commercial customers.
But Knautz’s impact extended far beyond brick production. He was instrumental in expanding Acme’s community engagement, fostering relationships with organizations such as the Texas Association of Business, the North Texas Commission, and North Texas LEAD (Leaders and Executives Advocating Diversity). His efforts in community leadership were recognized in 2016 when he accepted the Fort Worth Chamber’s “Spirit of Enterprise” award on behalf of Acme.
Knautz also made his mark on the national stage. In 2019, he was inducted into the Brickman’s Hall of Fame, and his contributions to the Brick Industry Association were substantial. He served twice as the association’s Chairman and was honored with its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.
As Acme Brick Company’s 11th President in its 133-year history, Knautz stands out as one of the company’s longest-serving leaders. His induction into the Texas Masonry Hall of Fame is a fitting tribute to a career marked by excellence, innovation, and unwavering commitment to the masonry industry.
