SEALY, TEXAS – The Magjarevich twins, Mike and Mark, recently celebrated 35 years at Acme Brick Company’s San Felipe plant near Houston.
The brothers started at the plant on Feb 24, 1987. Early on, the two displayed their knowledge and expertise in the everyday operations of brick making.
Mike
Mike started in the maintenance department as a Maintenance Mechanic and is still there today. Of course, he has seen much advancement from years gone by… and has managed to keep up and evolve with the changes. Like always, major changes and upgrades usually call for major problems with brick parts and machines.
From the mechanical side of operations, to learning the new and improved electrical upgrades, Mike has always found a way to draw and blueprint, build, implement, and then modify each machine to run more effectively and efficiently than it did before. He truly embraces change and seeks improvement from one job to the next.
Mark
Mark started in the manufacturing department but was later moved to the maintenance department where he remains today. He too has seen many changes throughout his 35 years with Acme. Even with the changing times and technology, he has always displayed a willingness to take on some of the plant’s more challenging jobs. With his specialty and precision in welding, he can repair and transform any brick making part or machine to make sure production can and will continue. Mark’s strong skill set is very instrumental in the plant’s success from day to day.
In summation, Plant Manager Jason Hight said, “The Magjarevich brothers are invaluable assets to San Felipe. They have remained committed from day one to their departments, as well as the plant. It an honor to have these two remarkable guys as part of our San Felipe Plant family. Here’s to another 35 years and more!”
